This lovely lady had an idea to artistically represent how it feels for some adolescents when they struggle with their changing emotions, self-esteem, and mental illnesses, including depression. She wanted me to help her to show that you can have both sadness and happiness, and that true happiness and loving yourself must come from within. Tweens and teens sometimes struggle to have confidence in themselves and see their true beauty. Everyone is beautiful just the way they are, and true happiness comes from the heart. The blue represents sadness and the yellow and sunflowers represent happiness. A photo shoot can be a good way for young ladies (or even guys) to show how they truly feel and realize that they, too, are beautiful.
