My portrait clients come to my studio for the transformative and healing experience which comes with a portrait shoot. You don’t have to worry about posing because I fully guide you through our shoot. I have been on both sides of the camera so I know what it feels like to be vulnerable in front of it.

My sessions are designed to capture your loving nature as a mother, your strength as a business woman, your generosity as a humanitarian, and your inner light as the incredible woman you have always been. The Process

Pre-consultation

After you contact us we will set up a time to have a brief phone call so we can discuss your dream photo shoot. We can schedule an in person consultation where I will meet you at my studio or a location of your choice. We will discuss possible session locations, wardrobe and talk about your how you would like to be photographed. There’s no one in the world like you — That’s why I’ll work carefully with you to create memories worth sharing. I offer photos in my studio and on location.

Photography Session

I help women of all ages feel elegant, confident & beautiful with a luxury experience. Your luxury experience starts by getting pampered with Professional Hair and Makeup while you sip your favorite beverage and indulge in your favorite snacks. Next comes the photo shoot. There will be candid and posed shots created throughout the session. I coach you on how to pose for specific shots you may want. I LOVE photographing women with their pets so please bring your furry/scaled/feathered best friend if you would like. These sessions generally last around 4-5 hours including your hair and make up time.

Photo Reveal

You will come back for a photo reveal/ordering session. This is where you get to see your portraits and order your favorites along with the products you like. There is no minimum purchase and you only purchase what you love. We have digital packages, wall art, matted prints, albums, acrylic blocks, video albums and heirloom folio boxes to offer. You will have the price list sent to you after our first contact and you will be able to see the product in person during your shoot at our studio. All forms of payment are accepted; and we also have interest-free payment plans available to fit everyone’s budget.

Why should I have a portrait session? 

If your only photos of you that are going to last through the generations are from your phone, then this session is for you. If you recently reached a huge personal goal, let’s document it and celebrate it. Have you hit an age milestone? Beat the odds or kicked cancer’s a*s? Did you lose pounds, or learned to embrace them? Then you need this photo session. It’s not just a new profile picture, but it’s you prioritizing and loving yourself, and gaining confidence and images to be proud of.

Are there any timing requirements or best times to schedule portraits?

I love to do portraits all year round, but here are a few things to keep in mind: If you have a deadline on when you need your photos and products, you have to keep that in mind. We have a two week turn around on photo reveals and a 2-4 week turn around on product orders. In studio shoots can be any time of day. If we our doing outdoor shoots, the 2 hours before sunset is the best time. The session start to finish takes around 4 hours (including your hair and make up).

What should I bring / wear for my portraits??

You can bring your own outfit and props if you already have the ones you want. I also have a variety of woman’s dresses, skirt, crowns and assorted props that you can borrow for our photo shoot if you wish at no extra charge. You can bring things to showcase your skills and hobbies if you’d. I LOVE photographing women with their pets so please feel free to bring your furry/scaled/feathered best friend.

What Products do you offer and can I just have the digital images on a disc?

We offer wall art, albums, keepsake folio boxes with prints inside, and digital images on a USB drive. I believe in printing your photos so I sell prints but I offer both prints and digital images. We have packages that include prints and digital images together or you can buy prints or digital images al a carte.

How much does this cost?

The average client investment is between $900-$2400, some spend less and some spend more. There is no minimum purchase, you only purchase what you love.

Do you offer payment plans and what forms of payment do you take?

Yes we do have payment plans. We accept cash, check, and credit cards.

Where do the photo sessions take place?

The studio portraits are done in my studio space located in Hampshire Illinois. We have forest preserves near by if you would like some photos in a natural setting also. If you would like all out door photos, we can make that happen too. We will go over this in more detail during our consultation.

Can my family/significant other/best friend join in on our photo shoot?

Yes. Since the we make the photo shoot all about you, we can include your loved ones towards the end of your session.

Do I need to hire a makeup artist?

Complimentary hair and make up is included in your photo shoot.

I’ve seen some photos in Pinterest or in ads – Can we try something like that?

Absolutely! I love to work together to make sure you get the photos you want.  You can email or text me photos that inspire you.

How long is it before I get to see my photos?

Two to three weeks after our portrait session, you will come back to see your images. We go through them together and you pick which images and products you would like to purchase.

What happens if I need to reschedule my session?

We understand that sometimes unexpected emergencies arise that will prevent you from keeping your original scheduled appointment. We are able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify us a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. Additional reschedules will require a fee of $150 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

How do I Book a Photo Shoot?

You can email me at capturedbylorraine@gmail.com to get the process started. To book a photo shoot you must pay a $199 non-refundable session fee.  The session fee does not include photos.
