Senior portraits are a once in a lifetime, empowering, spontaneous and fun, session that is designed with you to be completely custom. My goal is to celebrate YOU, your style, your quirks, your unique personality. You will feel like a star while we wander, laugh, and tell YOUR story in photographs.

If you missed out on your own senior picture experience (or if you received a less than thrilling experience and/or pictures with another photographer) I’d still love to talk with you before you head off on your next adventure! It’s not too late for you to still have a great senior portrait session.

The Process

Pre-consultation– After you contact us we will often set up a time to have a brief phone call so we can discuss what you are looking for in your senior portraits. If you prefer, we can schedule an in person consultation where I will meet you and your senior.  We will discuss possible session locations and talk about the photos you feel are the most important to capture. There’s no one in the world like you — That’s why I’ll work carefully with you to create memories worth sharing. I offer photos in my studio and on location.

Photography Session– I make these sessions a lot of fun and all about you. There will be candid and posed shots created throughout the session. I coach you on how to pose for specific shots you may want. I want to showcase your talents. Did you play on a team? Bring your sports jersey and gear with to your session. Were you in band? Bring your instrument. Are you a dancer? Bring your dance clothes and we will capture some dance photos for you. I LOVE photographing seniors with their pets so please bring your furry/scaled/feathered best friend. Do you have a car or truck you love? We can incorporate it! These sessions generally last 2 hours. However sometimes they are only an hour and at other times they take 3 hours.

Photo Reveal– You will have an online gallery to choose your images from. There is no minimum purchase and you only purchase what you love. We have digital packages, wall art, matted prints, albums, acrylic blocks, video albums and heirloom folio boxes to offer. You will have the price list sent to you after our first contact and you will be able to see the product in person during your shoot at our studio. All forms of payment are accepted; and we also have interest-free payment plans available to fit everyone’s budget.

Should a parent come to my senior portrait session?

Yes. This is really a fun experience and having a parent or loved one there to be part of the session has proven to be an added benefit to the session and authenticity of expression.

Are there any timing requirements or best times to schedule senior photos?

I love to do senior photos all year round, but here are a few things to keep in mind: the time to book your session is in the SPRING of YOUR JUNIOR YEAR. If you have a deadline on when the photo is due, you have to keep that in mind. We have a two week turn around on photos (subject to change). In studio shoots can be any time of day. If we our doing outdoor shoots, the 2 hours before sunset is the best time.

What should I bring / wear for senior pictures??

You can bring your own outfit and props if you already have the ones you want. I also have a variety of woman’s dresses, skirt, crowns and assorted props that you can borrow for our photo shoot if you wish at no extra charge. We suggest bringing sports jerseys if you played any sports in school. The same goes for music and dance, bring things to showcase your skills and hobbies. I LOVE photographing seniors with their pets so please bring your furry/scaled/feathered best friend. Do you have a car or truck you love? We can incorporate it!

What Products do you offer and can I just have the digital images on a disc?

We offer wall art, albums, keepsake folio boxes with prints inside, and digital images on a USB drive. I believe in printing your photos so I sell prints but I offer both prints and digital images. We have packages that include prints and digital images together or you can buy prints or digital images al a carte.

How much does this cost?

The average client investment is between $900-$2400, some spend less and some spend more. There is no minimum purchase, you only purchase what you love.

Do you offer payment plans and what forms of payment do you take?

Yes we do have payment plans. We accept cash, check, and credit cards.

Where do the photo sessions take place?

The location of the photo shoot is based on what type of photos you are looking for. We choose a location after we chat about specific kinds of photos you want. It all depends on what theme we come up with. I also have an indoor studio space in Hampshire Illinois we do portraits in.

Do I need to hire a makeup artist?

It is not required but I do recommend getting your hair and make up done professionally. It adds to the experience and who doesn’t love a little pampering? You deserve it. You can add hair and make up with our artist for $100

I’ve seen some photos in Pinterest or in ads – Can we try something like that?

Absolutely! I love to work together to make sure you get the photos you want.  You can email or text me photos that inspire you.

How long  is it before I get to see my photos?

Two to three weeks after our Senior Session, you will come back to see your images. We go through them together and you pick which images and products you would like to purchase.

What happens if I need to reschedule my session?

We understand that sometimes unexpected emergencies arise that will prevent you from keeping your original scheduled appointment. If this happens, we ask that you contact us a minimum of 48 hours prior to the scheduled date in order for us to be able to reschedule.

We are able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify us a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. Additional reschedules will require a fee of $150 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

How do I Book a Photo Shoot?

You can email me at capturedbylorraine@gmail.com to get the process started. To book a photo shoot you must pay a $250 non-refundable session fee.  The session fee does not include photos.
